Southern California is a pretty mild climate all year round. While other parts of the nation are under snow, we’re hitting the sand and slathering on the sun lotion. We have a not-so-closely-held secret, though: while the rest of the nation is coming out of its winter, we’re often experiencing May Gray and June Gloom. It’s our other “season”. This lovely Texas family’s vacation overlapped with one such May Gray morning this last week. But not the gray, nor the threat of rain, nor the 6’ high tide kept us from getting our pictures.
The high tide, however, did mean that we were extra vigilant not to turn our backs on the waves. Feet up!
The cold temperatures (what do you mean 60* isn’t cold??!!) meant that we did employ the hotel’s toasty fireplace to warm up the kiddos and grab more relaxed close-ups…
We also employed jumping jacks to warm up!!
And cuddling and tickling is a good way to chase away the cold, too…
Thank you, Letz family, for braving the “cold” and the mist and the high tide with me!!
