Please excuse me while I wax nostalgic for just a moment, as this particular session feels like the end of an era. And it really is; it is the last time I will photographically document the graduating high school seniors in the C Family. Which, quite honestly, boggles my mind, as I first met these two delightful young people when they were in my middle dude’s 4th/5th grade class! Time Flies. So Fast. It was just six years ago that I photographed C-Fam firstborn, and two years ago, second son. For all of these senior sessions, we have split our time between their small town mission and a special “thing”: for one son that thing was walking his awesome dogs, for one son that thing was surfing at his favorite beach. For these two, their mom told me that “being twins” would be their “thing”. My first instinct was that that “thing” was somewhat vague and not totally tangible for me to photographically document. I could not have been more wrong. Their “twin-ness” is tangible. The depth of their relationship, the ease of their friendship, the humor and banter and even the quiet moments … all so beautiful; this φιλία love is a gift from God, truly.
After the mission, we headed to a local beach for a little adventuring and exploring. This also felt like a gift. The warmth of the sun, the wispy-ness of the clouds, the tide not so high that we couldn’t scramble to our destination, the final spectacular sunset. Loveliness all around, as far as the eye could see…
C-Fam, I do not take it lightly, that your family has trusted me over and over again to capture your big life-milestones. I’m so very grateful!
