Paparazzi ... Workshop Style

secret workshop papparazzi

The Secret Workshop, that is. Not that the workshop itself is a secret - after all, it has a website and blog :-). It's called "secret" because it's a workshop that promises to share the best "secrets" for portrait photography. And it did so. In two very jam-packed, delightful days.

Here are Cheryl and Amy. They are fabulous photographers and friends. Patti Schmidt (not pictured), whom I quickly dubbed the Baby Whisperer, was also on hand to share with us her magic. Let's just call them the dream team.

Aren't they beautiful?

So, what's all the paparazzi about? Well, for me, it was about watching these consummate pros in action. Seeing/studying how they do what they do. Trying to observe their "vision". And then snapping some fun pictures of my own along the way (reaping the benefits of their set-up, preparation, & enthusiasm).

Here is the lovely Catherine Clay (who was also helping at the workshop) and her children...

I'll post some more workshop images tomorrow.

Such a sweet family...

Look what I found when I returned to town after being away for the weekend...

Where did I go, you might ask? Ooooh! I was in Dallas with a dear friend, attending a fabulous photography workshop. And, oh, was it good. Pictures, of course, to follow in the days to come.

A Call to Repentance

dead palms

The vine dries up,
And the fig tree fails;
The pomegranate, the palm tree also, and the apple tree,
All the trees of the field dry up.
Indeed, surely rejoicing dries up
From the sons of men.

Gird yourselves with sackcloth; lament; wail; consecrate a fast; gather an assembly ... and cry out to the LORD.

"Yet even now," declares the LORD,
"Return to Me with all your heart,
And with fasting, weeping, and mourning;
And rend your heart and not your garments."

Now return to the LORD your God,
For He is gracious and compassionate,
Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness,
And relenting of evil.

Joel 1:12-14; 2:12-13
