R.A.I.N.

Yup, it rained ALL day.

And we're SoCal people. We don't have rain gear.

Not like these people.

These people were SERIOUS about getting their photos.

Photos of ... nothing.

But, it was awfully nice of them to wear a rainbow selection of raincoats just so MY pictures could look nice. ;-)

I know it looks like the clouds are parting. But, I promise you, there were just more clouds under those clouds.

We moved on and left these serious photographers to their craft.

I love the colorful raincoats! What a beautiful assortment. And it's really pretty cool to see what looks like a never-ending pot of clouds.

We have rain here in Dallas today. Freezing rain. Fun fun. And I'm about to drive children to school and myself to work. ack.

When I saw the first picture of the photographers, I had to look closely, thinking that you must have photoshopped the colors of the raincoats! How fun that they were all dressed perfectly for your photo!

Hee Hee I thought you had a plan with the beautiful colored raincoats... That so stinks you cannot see a thing..

Hmmm. Looks familiar. (The rain, that is.)

We saw the Grand Canyon years ago. I don't know if it was slightly hazey or what, but it looked like a painting or photograph and it was hard to realize that we were seeing the real thing. Our raft trip on the river through the Grand Canyon, now *that* was somethin'. (Just half day on calm water, but it was gorgeous.)

It is a tribute to your photography skills that a rainy, cloudy day at the Grand Canyon still produces awesome photos, even if they are of photographers in rainbow rain coats. :)

haha! I love this... not only did they wear raincoats but they practically lined up in color order for ya! hahahaha!

I love that last picture... so beautiful. I love the layers of clouds. How often to you get to see that? See... you saw "something" in that great big hole in the ground. ;)

It's lame that it was so cloudy, but that last image is wicked awesome. Looks like the swirling mists of Mordor. Wait, did that sound geeky? Anyway, when you're handed lemons...

I noticed the rainbow coats right away and wondered if you had planned that before I read your message below the photo. How funny! :D

Yeah, we don't have rain gear either. It was awfully nice of them to wear the rainbow gear. Looks so nice in your photo!

David noticed that the colors go in rainbow order if you start in the middle and then go to the Right and then Left, then Right, then Left, then Right and Left again, radiating outwards. Are you sure this wasn't set up somehow? Maybe someone was behind you taking pictures of you taking pictures of them... ;-) The colors are all so pure and solid! Amazing.

Janet - shame on you! Me? Photoshopping colors?!? Bite your tongue! :-)

Heidi - ooooh, a raft trip!!!!! I would absolutely LOVE to do that some day! and hey, rain's ok. you just have to dress all your boys in brightly colored raincoats ;-)

fx - that would only sound geeky coming from someone else... ;-)

Julie - why would we SoCal people have raingear? it would just collect dust...

Katherine - maybe so! I was just surprised I was [seemingly] the only one photographing THEM!!!

I'd like to see what their craft produced on a day like that. Seriously, it would be interesting.

Just the same, I agree that it was very kind of them to be so colorful on your behalf--broke up the gray a bit.
