The Plot Thickens. The End is Near.

As you can see, my firstborn suffers from a severe case of low self-esteem ... NOT! "C.C." is his preferred pen name, in the grand tradition of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and, of course, J.K.Rowling. He says that he has a mere three chapters to complete.


Then begins our editing and search for a publisher. Exciting days, these are.

Gone Kayak'n...

Dear Friends invited us to join them for a day of kayaking. It was sooo much fun. We launched at the Newport Aquatic Club (doesn't that sound shi-shi?!?) and kayaked our way thru the back bay on out to Balboa Island where we enjoyed ice cream - lunch of the champions!! And then we returned (I was so very glad the tide/current was going our way, cause my arms were DONE, and I'm hurtin' even as I'm typin').

Today is my dear Daddy's birthday!...

... his three score and fifteen year birthday. That's three-quarters of a CENTURY birthday!! And he's still a mover and a shaker and a deal-maker!! Here he is at the beach, while on our pre-dinner walk, deftly handling all his birthday well-wisher calls :-D



Here's the cool tunnel that lets you pass under Pacific Coast Hwy to get to the beach. I'll claim as family all the people on the right of the photo.



And here's the garage wall we built him as a surprise for his birthday (you're all really quite jealous, aren't you?). Now all of Mom & Dad's crap extra stuff is hidden behind the wall and Dad has his dream, spic-n-span garage.



Happy Birthday, Dad. Hope you've enjoyed your "special day."
