More things you can learn about the Kellers from pictures:
1. I tend to put down my lens caps ... wherever. (and then forget where I put them).
2. We have ants. See the bug spray bottle? Another item I tend to put down wherever I last entered combat. (and then forget where I put it).
3. I have a hard time keeping the piano plant alive. This dying one is #3, I think.
4. Dog Dude is not allowed upstairs. So there he sits and waits for my return ...
5. Confession: I have a pair of Crocs. They're my summer slippers. And yes, they are hideous. I try never to leave the house wearing them (no offense to any of you who like them and wear them wherever). Last night I failed to remember to switch to my regular flip-flops before we ran to Costco. argh. While in the food court enjoying our frozen-yogurt treat, a guy next to us started coughing/choking (no! not because of my hideous shoes. because he had food stuck in his throat!). Everyone around him was watching carefully, prepared to jump in and Heimlich if necessary. All was well, no Heimlich necessary, and we left. Big Dude says: "Well, the good news is that the choking guy distracted everyone from your shoes..."
6. Speaking of shoes ... Kellers (of the male persuasion) tend to drop theirs by whatever door they enter.
7. Nothin' but the deepest thoughts shared here at Short on Words ... [snort!]

I love these posts, they are very informative :) Also, I am absolutely in love with those canvases hanging on your wall. Gorgeous!
Ooo! I'm loving this insight to your life! I have a few comments!
2. Bugs like soap and flavors so DONT dust with Pinesol or leave your dish washing soap open. Ants are actually attracted to and eat those scents!
3. I can't even keep my plants at work alive! I don't understand what they need.
5. Croc sandals are TOTALLY OK! I really want a pair. They are comfortable and not huge enough to stand out. Regular Crocs on the other hand are just a bucketful of barf dipped in nasty. *GAG*
5b. If someone is coughing and or speaking.. they're not CHOKING-choking. It means they are still getting air. Just in case it happens again.
Also... those canvases are GORG.
I love all these insights. And I am like "Where's Waldo" over here trying to find the bug spray. I can't see it. I did find the lense cap :-)
I heart my crocs. Not because they look good. But they are sooo comfy. I actually own a pair of CUTE croc sandals. Really. It's quite shocking. But they are cute. And comfy. I could even wear them with a dress.
Dog Dude is most likely more comfy on the cooler floor anyway. All of my little-hairy-double-coated-hot-in-this-weather look for hardwood, linoleum or bare floors...then the back feet go out and the front stretch forward and they melt like butter.
LOVE those canvases!
and your house is so CLEAN!
I would leave a comment but your house is so clean it made me feel guilty! I'm off to find Martha Stewart!
I gotta spill the beans on the "clean" appearance: I "overexposed" so my not-so-white-grimy-walls would appear white (same story with the baseboard). And I didn't provide any close-ups of the stairs so you couldn't see the slobber marks and dust. Scoot over, Martha Stewart ... cleaning Susan-style!
I LOVE those canvas prints you have hanging at the base of the stairs on the wall. I'm guessing that they're pictures that you've taken.
Can you share some details?
-where did you have them printed?
-what size picture is needed to blow them up that large without being pixelated?
-um, that's it.
Courtney-
Yes, they're pictures I've taken. I had them printed at Simply Canvas. They were big files. But. I've printed much smaller files (from my 8mp Rebel) at this big size, also and they work fine, without pixelating. The important part is exactly following the instructions of your canvas printer (some upsize for you, others require that you do the upsizing, etc.)
We have also learned that there are a lot of toes and feet in your pictures ... Check out the last two days posts ... cute boys feet and even some croc wearing mama feet. I adore your blog! Destiny D.
I too love this little peak into your life. Your pictures on the wall are so beautiful. I may need to overexpose my pictures to help my house look clean~great tip:)
Your dog looks like such a patient soul.
Love this post Susan...we have so many of the same "bad" traits in common. Hee!
I am forever losing my lens cap-- glad I'm not the only one.
And I have been known to photoshop my house clean- yikes. I never thought of over-exposure. Next time. :)
what a fun little glimpse into your life! thanks for sharing!
on the wall...are those pics you have taken? beautiful!!!!
cute post! it looks like you have some great photos on the wall, are they yours?
I love this post Susan...I think many of us put things down and forget where we left it.
And, I bet those super cool shoes are way comfortable. LOL
Thanks for the cheeky smile.
Yes, the flower pictures are mine. They're from the ranuncula flower fields that I visit each year. :-)
Oh my goodness. Laughed so hard. Can't see the ant spray. We got them this summer too. They drive me crazy! : (
I feel the same way about crocs. They could not be uglier.... I haven't owned a pair yet. I heard they feel heavenly though.
Hey Susan, I just love your everyday life photos. I think those give us an even better glimpse into our past in the years to come.
And like all the other readers, I totally love your canvases. I keep meaning to order a few for myself. One of these days...
i wear my crocs in the house so the tile floor doesn't make my feet sore :)
from one plant killer to another, i understand!!!
We are so much alike! I can't keep plants alive, I deal with ants and among many other things, I lose lens caps. Unlike me, your house looks perfectly clean. What caught my eye right away was the canvas photographs. They look so nice. One of these days, I'll cough up the money for some of those. I'm kind of freaked out to do it because my monitor isn't calibrated. I'm afraid they would look nothing like what I have on my computer.
