I Heart Faces - Creative Crop

My Kid and Adult entries this week are connected. They are "flip sides of a coin". Can you see why? And can you see what I used to "frame" their faces? I pretty much always try to crop in camera. Tho with the older gentleman image, I did shave a bit off all sides to bring him slightly closer. (I didn't want to crawl up too close and creep him out with my "covert" activity).

"Coin" Side 1

Flip side "Coin"

Ok. I totally can't keep a secret. The "shadow" reflected on the window in the first shot that's surrounding/framing my son, *IS* the man in the second shot. See his face? And his hands on the checkers?

As a contributing photographer over at I heart faces, I'm not eligible to compete, but I enjoy the weekly challenges. Head on over to I Heart Faces to see all the creative crops this week.

I loved both pictures! Did the man ever know you took his picture?

Great pictures, the shot of the man is awesome. Did any of your dudes play him in checkers? :)

I love the angle and composition of your photo! It looks like a man passing by just decided to stop and play checkers! Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the comment on my photo!

These are really neat shots! Took me awhile on the first one, but it finally sunk in. :) The second one is my favorite. The man just looks a part of the environment...like he has been in that area all his life.

These are great. I stared at your kid photo for a long time... trying to figure out how you did that? Are you in the shadow or someone else? Very cool.

Loving both, but I think the creativity of using the old man's shadow to "crop" around your son is pure genius. I heart YOUR WORK!

WOW! Oh I LOVE the old man! That photo is just moving. I LOVE photos that have that little mystery, or that little story behind it. Also why I used the adult in my entry this week, her face just TELLS of her hard life, and I think it shows all over her face!

Very very nice...I am in awe...

You are a true ARTIST to be able to see that possibility!
