I'm such a dork...

truly.

Leslie came over last week and brought me a delicious lunch and let me play around with her new 35mm lens.

One of the things she mentioned that she loves about this little lens is that it's easy to hold it above your head and have it quickly capture a funky & clear perspective. Thus, that last goofy shot of me, by me, with my arms stretched out.

Well, Leslie and her darling kiddos and her lens left. But the new "trick" remained. And I resolved to try it with my big, heavy, unwieldy lens. Over and over again. Because I'm a dork.

That last one is awesome! And I love the looks that your kids are giving you while you take pictures of yourself :-)

If that's a dork, then call me the President of that club. I am seriously considering creating a hardbound book of all the self-portraits I do of myself and with my hubby and kids. They have all grown to expect it out of me. :-)

Well it depends on who you ask. I love it! But it looks like maybe Middle Dude (did I get that right?) agrees with you.

Always nice to see some photographs of the photographer. Good times.

Ah yes, but a beautiful, fun-loving dork...with great arms, BTW...which is the best sort of dork to be. :)

That cracks me up too, the way your boys are looking at you in the background, I know that look too well LOL

What a fun perspective. And for the photog, who is almost never photographed, probably the simplest way to be in the photo.

So what'd you think of the lens?

I like the second photo you took with your own lens. It certainly is the easiest way to get the photographer in a few pictures. I'll join you in the dork club. :)

Still wading through Philippa. I'll let you know when I finish it...

ooo, like that last effect. I'm a dork too, I'm always taking pictures of myself because I don't like when other people take pics of me. I like yours better though, because you captured everyone else in the background.

i agree with Wade - the first thing I noticed were the muscles! :) And no, not a dork. How else can you relate to the teen generation without taking a copious (word for you) amount of self portraits?

I'm a dork too because I'm going to try that as well. So cool!

And wowza ~ looks at those guns you've got there. You're ripped lady! :)

haha! That's fun! You look great... I think I have about 500 shots of my oldest daughter like that. She uses her camera just on herself, haha! :)
