Four Hours Driving ...

200 miles (roundtrip) thru the oceanside and mountains and valleys, past ostrich ranches, past citrus, avocado and apple orchards, past pumpkin patches, and vineyards, 15 additional minutes to try and find parking, a bit of a walk (because we parked far away), a 30 minute wait in line ... all for a couple pieces of yummy, fresh apple pie.

Is that so unreasonable? It was really good pie.

I love all the "chatting" that happens on a road trip. It must have been good! I bet you saw some great stops along the way. I hear the scenic drives on the coast are beautiful!

Did you do that last collage with Foto Fusion? If so can you do what you did by buying the basic scrapbook version? I really like that software and appreciate the info in a previous post that you gave.

Thanks,
Beth

That is hilarious that you drove so far for a piece of pie. I can totally see us doing something like that. And thinking the entire time...hey, I can write a blog post about this.

Beth -Yes. and Yes. :-)

Kat- The funny thing is, I really did just crave some yummy pie. But since everything this year has been photographed and thrown on the blog, the Big Dude DID say that particular morning, "Honey, today I'll drive you anywhere you like for blog fodder...." :-D

Nope, not unreasonable at all. We've been to Julian, our friends that live in Oceanside took us up there one time, it's such a cute little town. Glad the pie was worth the wait.

Hugs & Blessings!

Oh, yum!! Hey, I think I've been there before! It felt like deja vu. :) My sister used to live in Lemon Grove kinda near there, I think.

I think long drives are great when there is wonderful scenery along the way.

Yummy desserts are *always* worth the drive! And it's so neat to see your pup included in the fun... pets are "real" members of the family in our house, too!

Hey, if it was good pie, and worth it to you, then its not unreasonable. In college (Florida State), we used to drive to Georgia just to get an Arby's shake. So no, I wouldn't call your trip unreasonable. ;)

When I started to read this I thought maybe you had driven to Oak Glen :)

We've been to Julian - it's a neat place. Been in danger of fire a couple of times these past few years though.

Well, gas is cheaper these days.

My favorite orchard is almost 6 hours away. I am thinking of making the trip. ;)

So proud of eldest for sending off that book submission! Waahhooooo!
