Maternity, take 2...

Here's what I learned from this Maternity Photoshoot with a feisty 15 month old toddler girl:

Family photos with young ones is tough. Really tough. Forgetta 'bout nice posing ideas.

If you actually want the darling, feisty little Rylan in the photo, you have to hang on to her tight!

Grab both those arms!

Or both those legs!

Confine her to your shoulders.

Or to a shopping cart.

Swing her up high in the sky.

Or hug her tight.

And don't, DON'T forget about the ice cream bribe.

If all else fails, try and catch her running away in the background. :-)

So so great. Lucky you to have Leslie to pester! :) I'd give anything to have her tutelage. You did an amazing job and they are all so precious and dear. Thank you for sharing.

ROFL Good tips for rambunctious toddler picture taking. I'm gonna remember that. You've obviously gotta get creative, and boy, Susan, you are the queen of creative! I'm impressed. These shots are magnificent!

When my boys were little, Donny would pose and do whatever I wanted...wear whatever I wanted. Then Remy was born...he scream in every photo, tried to run away. It was a nightmare.

So fun, Susan! I really love your shadow shots. You have such a wonderful variety there, great job!

so I'm wondering...in the last photo, was she supposed to be sitting by her mom, or had you just given up on her and happened to catch her running? Good job with all.

Fairlight - Thanks! yes, I AM lucky - Leslie's the best!!

Rhea - at least you got one of each variety - you coulda been 0-for-2!

tearese - oh, yeah, we had just totally given up on her :-} for the rest of the shoot, if she wasn't gripped tightly, my best hope was to get her in the background!

Leslie - I'm just so relieved and pleased you like them!!!!! Come back as often as you like!!

Again...my comment is boring. Just fantabulous! We have pictures that Teri took of Madalyn at about 7 mohths. And the only thing that would keep her happy was big piles of pine straw in her hands. She has some in every picture. Whatever works!

Kat-
I'm happy to read your "boring" comments all day long!! :-)

Susan, your pictures are magic. They make me tear up they are so beautiful. You capture the feeling of the moment so well. Your lens is like a window into the souls of those whom you photograph. Their personality comes through loud and clear. They are so much more than just "pretty pictures."

Keep on snappin'.
