Urban Maternity?!?

So, Leslie and I decided to share gas and brave IKEA with four kiddos (all of whom are NOT fond of shopping). During the "planning session" (oh yeah, we had a plan.) we had the following conversation:

Me: Hey. Can I pretend I'm a "real" photographer and we can take some funny Urban Cranky Toddler and Exasperated Prego Mommy pics?? Y'know, it'd be, like, a new twist on the typical maternity shoot?

Leslie: Ummm, that's not a shoot, that's my life....

Oh yeah, we're total rebels. We blocked that emergency exit for about a whole minute... Isn't that a yummy yellow wall???

Oh? Our Plan? It included purses full of snacks to be freely dispensed throughout the aisles. Hot dogs and frozen yogurt and cinnamon rolls to be bought & consumed at the end. And the bribe positive reinforcement of the privilege of viewing SpiderMan if everyone refrained from whining behaved properly.

You two are rebels when you are together! First, sitting in a restricted field of flowers and now blocking emergency exits! :)

Was the shopping trip a little more pleasant than usual with a little one to entertain the dudes and the dudes to entertain the little one?

Did you bring home any treasures? I love going to IKEA...but it's not exactly close...so, to go, I need to know what I want. I wish it was close enough to just go and browse...

Hilarious! Almost makes me want a shopping trip to IKEA with all three of my little boys. Well, maybe not. Loved the story line.

Melissa- great memory, you have! And yes, we were both pleasantly surprised by everyone's cooperation. (my boys really really wanted to see SpiderMan!!)

Kat - I did bring home what I wanted. Maybe that will be a post after I get pics...

Heidi - hehe. Yeah, boys & shopping. Not usually a good combination.

Leslie - 'twas fun indeed. Just say the word if you want me to email those to you (sooc or edited...). And hey, you got the photo I wanted - I love that yellow wall!!!

What a fun fun post! I love how all of us mamas have to strategize over a simple shopping trip to keep it from being a nightmare. We all do the same things, and bribes ALL ALWAYS involved. And did we get to see a picture of you??? So I can now place a face with your signature comment flower??

Love your bribes and the dudes keeping Toublemaker happy. lol

Awesome odd shots too! I love it. You rebels you, blocking that emergency exit. hehe

Love it!! My favorite picture is the one with the mirror relecting the dudes with the shopping cart. Very cool.

Do people look at you weird when you take pictures inside a story? I want to do it, have done it once maybe, but feel like people are loooking at my weirdly...
