Reflection. Light. Glory.

… but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.

When I was a child, I talked like a child,

I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.

When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror;

then we shall see face to face.

Now I know in part;

then I shall know fully,

even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain:  faith, hope and love.

But the greatest of these is love.

For God, who said,
“Light shall shine out of darkness,”

is the One who has shone in our hearts

to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God

in the face of Christ.

It’s that time of year again.  Trader Joe’s has ranunculus.



A potted plant just jumped right into my basket.

His World.

He turns double digits next month, but his imagination is still Vivid.  Vibrant.  Vivacious.  I would say “sweet”, but “sweet” doesn’t start with a V.  And, y’know, he’s firing an assault weapon.

An excellent wife, who can find? 

The heart of her husband trusts in her …

Strength and dignity are her clothing …

Her children arise and call her blessed …

Her husband also, and he praises her.

Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting,

but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

Though Gina’s beauty is clearly *not*  fleeting, her excellence is not in question.  And I can attest that her four boys (yes, four!) and her husband all clearly adore her. 

Just fyi ... because we scheduled this session in the middle of a workday, no alcohol was consumed!  You'll be relieved to know this "wrong" was rectified when Gina returned to this beautiful pub with her husband to surprise him with dinner and a disk of her pictures as a gift for his momentous birthday.  "An excellent wife, whose worth is far more than rubies" ... indeed.
