End of the trail. Almost out of light. Maybe now we’ll head to Joshua Tree? There. Somewhere down that trail we’ll hit the road to Joshua Tree…
So, the plan was to bbq dinner in Joshua Tree on free-entrance day. But we got there too late to use the day-use firepits. And all the campsites were already in use, reminiscent of this time we planned to camp overnight. Our backup, spur-of-the-moment plan was to grab a hotel room and return in the morning. But unlike that time, this time there was no room at any inn anywhere close to here. :-( So we took our empty tummies, enjoyed the spectacular sunset, and buzzed our way thru the park … Of course, we had to climb on a couple rocks. But it was pretty dark. For you photo geeks, I’m shooting fisheye-wide, 4000 iso and 1/5 or 1/6 second exposure, even borrowing a little glow from the car headlights. So there’s our little daytrip. Where we got sidetracked – delightfully – on the way to Joshua Tree, arrived too late, and ultimately, returned home without our bbq dinner. We may try again this week; College Kid is home on break, and the desert calls…
