Aloha!

kauai day 1kauai misc. 352 411 417kauai day 2 467251

Roosters and chickens abound here.  And just to set the record straight, the roosters don't just cock-a-doodle-doo to announce daybreak, they sing their song all the day AND night long...

Kauai clouds are lovely.

Big Dude remembered our rental car lady from 2 two years ago.  They struck up a conversation like old friends.  She totally blessed us with a discount and a car upgrade.  We'll be touring the island topless this trip!  :-)

The water is warm.  And clear.  And totally wonderful.

The bullfrogs in the yard are even bigger than the Toad we left back at home.  We need a flashlight to walk outside at night, lest we step on the plethora of frogs that hang out in the yard after dark.

Littlest Dude really REALLY wanted a coconut with a hole in it that he could drink out of.  Done.

Hawaii humidity does NOT do pretty things to my hair.  Frizz.  Frizzy curls.  Blech.

Mornings have been cold.  (really.  70* feels quite cold here.  go ahead, feel sorry for me)

Kauai coffee made in the AeroPress tastes yummy.

Books we're reading ... Big Dude: Good Earth;  The Teen: Atlas Shrugged;  Littlest Dude: The Cricket of Times Square, King Arthur, & various My Weird School; Middle Dude:  The Beyonders; and me:  Moloka'i (found on the bookshelf in our home this week.  bonus!) and The Brothers Karamozov.

Btw, I am completely loving my new phone camera.  All these pics courtesy Android.

Moloka'i by Alan Brennert? If so, that book is SO good! Have fun in Kauai and if you can, visit the Na Pali coast by boat!
