Life at Home :: The Creativity Project

Have you all met Becky at Life with Kaishon?  If you haven’t yet, you need to.  Becky is perhaps the most encouraging presence on the whole of the internets.  She sprinkles her lovely & kind-spirited fairy dust comments wherever she goes.  And her blog is FULL of love for her friends and family and kids in her neighborhood.  Becky is part of a blog circle called The Creativity Project that posts a new theme/challenge each month.  This month their theme is one that’s close to my heart:  life at home.

I can’t believe our summer has come to a close and school has commenced.  Summer was good this year.  ‘Twas slow-paced.  A few day outings.  A quickie trip to WA.  And a whole lot of time at home, filled with Legos, K’nex, puzzles, books, varmints, projects, Olympics viewing, and each other.  Here are the lingering snippets of our life at home this summer …

Cookies were cooked.IMG_6351life at home 6IMG_6341Books were read.IMG_4800IMG_4801Olympics were watched. Robots were built. Poptarts were consumed.  Legos were rampantly out and about DAILY.  Myst mysteries were solved.life at home 1A visitor came to stay for 10 days.IMG_4679This is where he spent most of his time.  IMG_4774IMG_4685Puzzles were put together (nearly 10,000 pieces in all).life at home 14IMG_4965Crumbs were cleaned up.  Every. last. one.life at home 9IMG_6374A reptile was caught.  And a habitat was built.life at home 15IMG_6430There was gaming, food prep, friends, filming, & yard work.life at home 2And bbq-ing.  Lot of bbq-ing.  And lots of messes (sigh).life at home 3Windows were washed.life at home 4Leftover (from the school year) science labs were sprinkled all over the house.  All summer.  (double sigh).  And finally completed on the very last day in which they were due.life at home 5Paper airplanes were built.  And took flight.life at home 7life at home 8life at home 10There might have been a pillow fort or two.life at home 11And Mindstorm creations.life at home 12life at home 13
Yay for summer.  And slow days.  And time to play.  Now it’s time to hit the books!!

Susan! When this theme was announced I knew right away that you just had to be our guest! You are so good at documenting life. You have taught me so much. I am thankful for that. I laughed about the projects getting finished on the very last day of summer. Love the doggy visitor. Love the books. Love the life that is present in your home.
Life and love.
Perfection!
Thank you for joining us. We are honored to have you.

How fun is that! So many treasures here...going outside to shoot into the kitchen (filing that idea!), window washing photos (so cool!), watching over the shoulder of dude watching bikini volleyball girls (giggled at that), and also knowing who likes to be photographed under what circumstances and to what extent (and also where tidiness belongs on the priority list). I LOVE your respect for your dudes.

I love how you remember to capture the everyday stuff. I have really very little to remind us of the summer. This post makes me want to do better--and not wait until next summer to start, either!

I absolutely enjoyed reading and looking through your pics. I love how you document every day 'moments.' Each ordinary moment is special. I love that. :)

SK, I love this! I really need to get my camera out more often and keep it out to use to capture the bits and pieces of our life.

First off - Your boys are so cute. I just want to hug 'em! Max would so just follow them around all over.
But more to the point - I love these photo. Love seeing glimpses into your life. :) Your visitor was cute. And that puzzle looks CRAZY (and I come from a puzzling family!). And I want to see more of your cute dog on your blog and IG. ;)
Looks like a fun fun summer. It sure went by fast.
