The Pod, The Bird, Art, Literature & Oatmeal::Orange County Family Life Photography

So. This is what I do. I tell family stories -- hopefully, without using any/many words. Yes, I will do my very best to capture some lovely portraits at any photography session. But ... my bigger goal and the desire of my heart is to capture the magic that is the beauty from everyday life.

This is a story about The Pod (short for The Cephalopod) and his big sister, The Bird (short for Wind-up Bird), and the delightful-full-of-love family life they were born into. A life that includes, amongst other things: art, music, literature, gaming, hugging, creating, fantastical nicknames with stories to accompany, a whole lot of Jesus ... and a little bit of oatmeal (tho, none for Papa, thankyouverymuch). Enjoy.

See the magic? The everyday beauty? We captured a precious little piece of this dear family's now. And it's a beautiful life. Truly.

I hope the mom gets out of these what I got out of my home session with you susan. That the tiny bits of life are so pretty.

This was perfect in every way. The BEST kind of session. You shine when doing this. And loved the JJ soundtrack. Did I ever tell you that she was my student when I taught high school English? :)

I've been away on vacation and actually thought about your beautiful beach photography while in Florida. These photos are wonderful...you have captured a time in their lives that most of us only have in our memories. I wish I had photos like these! Perfect!

Susan, I love your photos of my family. You truly have a gift from God and it seems you are using it for His glory. So many of the pictures capture their lives as they are. We love spending time with them but are thousands of miles away and thanks to you we are able to be a bit closer. When we come to America we usually stay a couple of weeks with them and this is exactly how it is... Thank you, Tim Hahane
