What I Don't Do ...

Though no one really questions whether I "do it all" (especially not Big Dude or my boys - snort!), I thought it would be fun to compile a list of a few of the things I choose not to do, after reading a few fun posts with such lists (notably Tracey's and Michelle's).

I Don't ...

Wear make-up.

Drink alcohol. I've never developed an appreciation for the taste.

Read many non-fiction books. I just prefer fiction.

Eat vegetables. Don't like 'em.

Or meat. Don't like it, either. (except for hamburger & chicken. I know. weird.)

Take the wheel on our Keller Family Roadtrips. Big Dude can't relax while I drive and I have no problem relaxing/reading/sleeping while he drives. So it's all good. ;-)

Dust diligently.

Like change.

Walk the dog regularly.

Watch the "news" or read newspapers or magazines.

Keep my desk tidy. Tho, I wish I did.

Make my bed daily.

Go to the grocery store if I can find what I need at Trader Joe's or Costco.

Go to the movies, either.

Talk a lot.

Move quickly first thing in the morning.

Watch serial tv dramas. (it would drive Big Dude bonkers)

Add those gross flavored "creamers" to my coffee. Just sugar (lots of it) & milk, thankyouverymuch.

Camp. Don't like the bugs or dirt or discomfort.

Wear heels (or get dressed up in general); flip-flops and slippers are more my "flavor".

My lovely friend Leslie took pictures of me and my family last month. I promise to share more once I make my way thru all the awesomeness and pull together a post!

I think "I Don't" lists can probably tell you as much about a person as their "I Do" lists :-). Feel free to tell me some of your "I Don'ts" in the comments :-).

Based on your list I've decided to make you my best friend. ;)

I'm curious though... if you don't eat vegetables or meat then what DO you eat? ;)

Here's to not wearing makeup and not dressing up.

p.s. I'm getting ready to go to the mall to buy a dreaded dress up outfit to wear to a dear friend's fancy birthday party. It's making my stomach hurt. ;)

Michelle - :-)
I think I would simply die if I had to eat a low-carb or gluten-free diet. I eat lots of bread, pasta, cheese ...
Glad you're the one who has to buy the dress, and not ME!! good luck!

When friends start telling their gluten free tales, I freeze like a traumatized person. No bread? No tortillas? No (fill in the carb blank). That would be very hard for me.

I will have to think about this one. I remember reading M-mv's list years ago, and thinking that having a substantial "don't do" list is as important as an "always do" list.

Thanks,
Di

You are fascinating. I shop almost exclusively at Trader Joe's JUST because I read about it on your page and then decided to pop in one day on the way home from Philly.

Now I love their chocolate covered bananna bites. Thanks a stinking lot : )

I don't wear makeup when I am depressed...so I haven't worn in it about 3 years now. It is hard for me to even look in the mirror. Every once in a while I do and I am like OH MY GOODNESS!

I love that picture of you. You have the best smile and the most beautiful heart. Let's be friends forever : )

My list would almost be a repeat of yours - except that I like meat and love veggies, and I'm the driver on family road trips while DH relaxes (or takes care of the kiddos!). And not living in sunny CA, my flip-flop weather is gone. I'm so sad!

I love your list! I did a list, too, so you'll have to check it out on my blog (sometime last week, I think). But now after your list I could add a few more to mine. Like...

I also don't dust diligently, like change, watch the news or read newspapers, keep ANYTHING tidy, or camp. Give me a hotel thankyouverymuch. :-)

LOVE the photo!!

wow, we are more similar than I thought! Though I do do veggies, and camping. And I ditto what M asked...what do you eat if you don't eat meat and veggies?!
LOVE the pic girl!

We have a lot in common. I don't dress up very often, wear make up much or wear heels. I used to use tons of sugar and cream, but now I'm addicted to Hazelnut Creamer. Did you really give it a try? I would have had you for a vegetable lover...who knew! I'm getting used to change and it has been a good thing for me. And now I am off to walk the dog, yes, something I like to do! Great to get to know you better, Susan!

What a beautiful picture. You look so much like your mom.

I don't know if you know who I am, but your mom was the teaching assistant in my first grade class when I lived in California as a child. My mom (Malinda) and your mom are still great friends. I stop by your blog periodically and love your photographs.

I made a list of "don'ts" on my blog tonight after being inspired by you... I stole a few of yours as well! :) Hope you don't mind!

What a great list and it's true, but I never thought about it before, that you can learn just as much from a list of this type. The picture is so pretty, especially without that make up you don't wear. :)

This is very fun, Susan! Nothing here that surprises me too much. I love flavored creamers (the exception to my rule "don't drink your calories"), but I too never acquired a taste for alcohol. Sometimes I wish my parents had succeeded in helping me love a glass of wine, but then, back to my rule. ;-)

I love that amazing smile of yours!

That is a terrific picture of you, Susan, and what a fun list. I think I'm going to have to work on my 'don't do' list...
