Walking into this room makes me uncomfortable. Squirmy. Claustrophobic. Feel the need to clean, clean-out, clean-out some more. But here's the thing ...
He's so happy ... content ... busy in there. His imagination runs wild. He's in charge of whole universes.
And I know in 10 years, I'll look back on these images, and not be so frustrated with the mess, the unfolded laundry, the clutter. Instead, I'm pretty sure I'll see Little Dude's happiness and the worlds he created with army men, Lego guys, and stuffed animals. All while being surrounded by crooked, crowded, piled-high books.

oh my goodness, best room EVER!!! all the things you have done in there are absolutely amazing! you can tell he is so stinkin' happy ... i would definitely leave it be for now. and just don't go in there, haha. ;)
Ben was looking over my shoulder. He said, "It's not so messy. I mean look, there's space on the floor." ;-)
It looks perfect to me. Absolutely perfect! I love his room. His imagination. His ten year old world is magnificent.
I love this post! Reminds me to live in the moment. Beautiful!
He's so stinkin' cute. I need to adopt your attitude. The bed and play rooms around here give me hives. :-)
My boys share two to a room, and this looks just like my older boys (including the dirty socks on the floor!). And, oh my, they would love to get their hands on that Lego Death Star. :)
I have to keep reminding myself that boys just see the world differently (and DON'T actually see all the stuff they have to step over to get to their beds). Kudos for capturing him in his element.
Hmmmm. Looks a bit like a room in my house :)
wow I love all the storage you have in that room, especially the shelves on the ceiling! I love how high the ceilings are too; it makes a lot more room for stuff. What a lucky kid.
Seriously, I miss this. I haven't stepped on a lego in years. Counting the days for the grandson to arrive! Let the fun begin! (Again (-: )
Cool room! And thanks for the reminder not to sweat the kid-clutter!
In ten years you'll be glad you documented it as it is. Lovely images.
yep, totally needed to hear this. :)
