And to that end, I want to try different angles. I want to SEE surrounding elements and use them to frame my subject. I want to effectively capture the story surrounding the picture. I want to be more creative...
And to that end, I may end up taking many pictures of the exact same thing. (In this case, Little Dude doing his spelling work for the day.) All at 24mm. All at the same time. All doing the same thing. But trying different perspectives, different depths of focus; experiment, experiment, experiment ... til it becomes second nature and I see better.

This is a great exercise. Love all your perspectives!
"I want to SEE surrounding elements..."
Susan, I so appreciate this post, especially coming from you. I feel this way about my life. How often do I really slow down long enough to SEE the surrounding elements? I am loving doing a 365 for that reason, but even so, I find it very challenging to notice and USE the surrounding elements rather than just trying to de-clutter.
I will love following your quest!
I love this! I am joining your movement as well! Thank you for helping me think outside of the box. Or the camera. Or whatever : )
Love it, Susan! It is so fun to get down and up and see things from a different perspective, isn't it?
OK, this really got me thinking!
I LOVE this. The one angle I wish you had gotten was JUST the bottom of all the chairs, and his feet dangling somewhere in the (off) center!
I seriously need to practice this same as well. My photos are seriously boring. Thanks for the nudge.

I love the way you use lines in your photography! It's very inspiring!
I'm kind of in a composition rut, and this is a great exercise!
Thank you for sharing these moments. I feel freed from my former storytelling style. I can't wait 'til the kids come home (for more than the obvious reasons now). I'm a lens junkie, but I've never used the 24mm. Yum!
I love that he was so cool about being photographed while he did his work. Good food for thought about angles.
