Lunch + "Recess"
A little mental gymnastics in a game of set. Each "set" of three cards - each attribute (color, shape, pattern, number) must be all the same or all different. I can see a couple in this particular lay-out (ie. striped purple peanut + 2 solid purple diamonds + 3 empty purple ovals).
This next one stumped us both. Couldn't find any sets...

We play "Set" too, and one of my friends excels in it. I'm always saying, "wait, wait, I think I got it!", but then one of mine is wrong. My sister has played it online...maybe I should practice and surprise them all the next time we play!
Oh Susan, I hear you going "heh, heh, heh!" Very fun post, even if a little sadistic. ;-)
So are you saying that in the end you found one, or that you still never did???? I will bring Ben back later--he creams me at this game. He creams me at most games now, come to think of it.
It's always the obvious ones we miss.

OK. Ben finally came over here with me. We say add three more cards and try again. No sets.
Set!! Empty red ovals...single, double, triple. Wait... Were you totally teasing? My son creams me in this game.
Now, have you played Settlers of Catan? We might just be sisters if you have.
Though I just looked at it again and since I'm on my iPod I can't tell if some of those ovals are striped?????
the single oval is striped. :-(
even my youngest can beat me if he's "tuned in" to the game - but his game-attention-span is pretty short. so he wins for the first 8 minutes, and then I catch up ;-).
I've not played Settlers ... I'll have to look into that!!
