Summer in Review ...

2010 summer in review

I Heart Faces is encouraging us to share about our summers. I'm still in denial that mine has come to an end. It seems it came and went all too quickly. But now that I look at it collage-style, I can see that it was jam-packed, even tho relaxed and lazy. It was filled with our giant roadtrip thru western National Parks, swim lessons, reading great books, I Heart Faces' Photowalk, foggy-non-hot weather, trips to the beach regardless, puzzles and more puzzles, canyon hikes, and lots of photos!

Be sure to visit I Heart Faces to see how everyone spent their summer days ...

What great memories, thanks for allowing us to come along for the ride. Maybe I need to make a collage too...I see bits of fall in the landscape and I know winter and the cold will follow. Maybe a nice summer collage near my desk is the pick me up I might need to make it until next spring! beautiful work, glad you have included a few pictures of you also!

I love how you mixed in those bright beautiful flowers. They pull my eyes back and forth across your collage. Nice work.

loved seeing your little tutorial on iheartfaces today. :)
Random question...what do you use to make your collages?? Do you do them on your own in PS? I am such a collage freak. Love the collage story told of your summer!

Hi Tracey -
I find PS to be way too tedious for collages (tho, if I practiced enough or made actions, I'm sure it would get easier ... maybe???)
Anywhoo, I use Fotofusion (www.lumapix.com) to make all my collages. They have a full demo version that you can download free - it's a great way to test drive it and see if it's a good fit for you.

What a great collage. I love how in one large image you've captured summer. It says a full, fun summer to me. I'm sure it has endless meaning to you and your family. Nice work and great images!!

thank you Susan for the info...alas the free fotofusion trial is only for windows. I am a Mac girl. :(
I guess I am going to have to learn how to do it on my own! Have a great weekend!

:-(. I know there's a work-around that involves a 3rd party software ($39ish dollars) that allows windows programs to work on macs ... back in my mac days I scoured the Fotofusion info boards to find the software link. Of course, that takes away the "free-ness" of the demo ...

Alternatively, you could look into the Moiroi (spelling) Compositor. I think it's linked on IHF. It's a plug-in that works with PS to easily create collages ...
