I Heart Faces - 1 Year Anniversary!!!

Creativity is NOT my strong suit. And Amy and Angie wanted creative and fun for this week. And, truly, they deserve nothing less. So I immediately ruled out a cliche write-in-the-sand (cliche for me, anyway, cause, y'know, we Kellers write in the sand regularly). I figured I would hold out til we arrived at my in-laws' house in the Great Northwest. I would write in the SNOW instead (remember: I did say creativity is not my strong suit). Imagine my dismay to discover no snow. No Snow.

So here I am, back at the drawing board. Trying to think think think. In my pajamas. Not having combed my hair. No make-up. No ... oh, who am I kidding? This is my usual attire and look.

No brilliant ideas. I pulled out Middle Dude's Christmas gift. My much-more-talented-than-I sister-in-law drew me a beautiful heart (artistry is also not one of my talents). I tried to get my dog to cooperate and put his nose on the table next to my art. But he wouldn't cooperate. So I threw my "art" under the table with him and tried to take that picture, but it was too dark. Fail.

Then I begged my mother-in-law for cookie cutters. And created this image, which I then threw in front of kiddos enjoying hot chocolate.

It's aw-right, I guess. Nothing to write home about. But time is running out. I call it good, and we hit the looooong road home.

Guess what we hit on the second day of our trek home? Snow. But I'd already finished my project, so I wasn't thinking in IHF terms. On the 3rd day, we arrived at Zion National Park. My beloved Big Dude pulls over and tells me to follow him.

See why I love him?:

I think your entries are great! Even your first one has the logo on the computer. I also struggled with this theme. My hubby didn't help me out, though...darn him! :)

Fun story to go with the photos. You should keep Big Dude around for another year, for sure. We just finished our long trek home TO the snow. Here to stay for awhile!

I heart faces is a very cool site, and I'm glad they appreciate you so much. I know I do.

I love these.

It's so very strange seeing snow in the photos when we are in the middle of Summer.

These are very creative shots, and this was a hard theme! My favorite is the last one of you in the snow, it just looks so peaceful, and I love the background. Very nice, all of them.

I must be hormonal or something because when I first read about Big Dude telling you to "follow him" I got tears in my eyes. LOL!

I think he's a keeper! :)

Thank you so much for all you do for us Susan...I can't imagine IHF without you in it!

It has been such an amazing year for I Heart Faces! Wonderful entries, and I think yours were very creative. Me, on the other hand, truly lack creativity and am still wondering what I'm going to enter this week! Ughh, I am a procrastinator for sure.

I love your story about the dog and under the table! Too funny!

I love the snow ones too! What a great Bid Dude you have!

I have a question.. that 3rd picture... maybe I am blonde but i can't figure it out? Is that pictures of rocks that you put near the kids or granite? LOL! It's a neat shot and love the cookie cutter idea!

Love these! Especially the snow in Zions. :) I wracked my brain this week for ideas. Not all of my entries turned out like I imagined but I needed to move on to things that had to get done. (Feeding my kids, taking a shower, etc...)

My kids love that banana game, BTW.

I love the pet fail. I have so many pet fails I've almost vowed to stop trying. I mean, not only are they uncooperative, but my dog is jet black. All of her.

Great shots, though, and I enjoyed reading, too.

Your man is priceless! How sweet and I happen to love the one of you in your pjs with now makeup on...maybe because it reminds me of myself. lol

I've enjoyed reading your blog this year and wish you and yours a wonderful new year! Oh, and thanks for being like the big sis I never had...especially when it comes to camera stuff. I've learned a lot from you.
