and until recently you could drive right up and peer right over the edge into this pit filled with toxic soup. That is until some genius came up with the idea of making it a tourist attraction. So we did our part for the local economy, paid our $6, and walked down the "tunnel" to see the sight ... site? Anywho, it was kind of cool.

Wow. Now that is pretty cool, indeed! Is it as cool as it looks, or is it because of your stunning photography?
I was thinking the same thing as Deidra.... I bet I would yawn if there in person... but the pics are so cool... only you Susan..
btw.. are you there yet?
you had to pay to see that? I've never even heard of it. The tunnel wold be cool though.
Leslie - yes, we're here in WA now. :-)
And yes, it really was cool/weird/eerie/other-worldly, beautiful in a strange sort of way. The water was copper colored (and that's what's been mined from the earth there).
I think it was worth the money : ). I am so glad you have your camera with you wherever you go.
