The Dude Likes to Read...

The Dude wants to make note of a couple things:
1. He also saw the movie Coraline and enjoyed it immensely. Usually Kellers don't like the movie as much as the book. So this is notable.
2. He did not think the sequel to The Mysterious Benedict Society was as good as the first book, but still liked it.

I am telling you...we need to be doing some matchmaking :-)

I really liked The Mysterious Benedict society. The second was just okay.

I loved Coraline. But haven't seen the movie. Has he read Gaiman's newest - Graveyard book? I have it on reserve at the library.

I haven't read Brisingr yet. I was really disappointed in the last one. And his writing style got clunky and preachy. Wasn't sure if I wanted to try it or not...

Has he read "The Hunger Games?"

The Dude reminds me of me at that age. We didn't have a TV growing up so all I did was read ~ loved it! Best form of entertainment out there. :)

How great is that! I hope and pray my two kiddos grow up loving to read!

As an adult I loved Rangers Apprentice.

Books are wonderful, one of the things I see as a true deficit today are kids who don't like to read. Learning to read and understand what you read means that later you can read contracts, school assignments, loans, letters and applications.

There is a fascinating discussion right now on a dog list (!) about kids and reading/spelling/phonics vs sight reading.

I love seeing pictures of boys who love to read. :) I haven't yet read the sequel to The Mysterious Benedict Society. I'm waiting until it comes out in paperback...

I'm glad the second one was okay because we just bought it yesterday! I have two readers, and we have stacks of books EVERYWHERE! Someday I plan on doing a photo post just on that!

Hmmm...I just noticed all that empty space around the idiot-box...shame to let all that space go to waste...

I know, BigDude, I know.

We totally NEED a new, big screen tv.

Then none of us would EVER need to read for entertainment ever again.

Hi Susan (wave, wave!) and big dude! Its bee a little while since I visited you… ok a long while…

My son loves to read…. His selection of choice is science fiction. You could tell how he would discuss other books (not science fiction) that he was a science fiction geek….

Ya know it’s funny when you hear (or read) something you think you are the only one who says a certain something.....

I call our TV the idiot box too!

I just love a good reader : ). They are the coolest of people. Now that movie...it wasn't my favorite. I can't pinpoint what I didn't like, but there was something about it that was kind of eerie.
