Some notes: The sky really is this blue. All I'm really adding to these digital photos is a little sharpening and a little contrast. The place really is THAT awe-inspiring. The dog dude came along and loved climbing the rocks - was, in fact, quite adept at climbing. More so than I; tho, of course, I *was* the one taking photos ;-). We were very limited as to where Kona, the Dog Dude could go - ie. not allowed on trails, not allowed more than 100 feet from the road.

Rock World. aka Joshua Tree National Park.
Yes, I know. Joshua Tree, both by name and by the iconoclastic U2 album from nearly 20 years ago, is reknown for its trees. But. It's really all about the rocks.

Wow. Excuse me while I have a little rock envy moment now...
Thanks for sharing your wonderful pics!
I was thinking about the wonderful color saturation in your photos and was wondering if you used a filter when I read your last paragraph. It is amazing how beautiful it is out in the desert away from the pollution of the city.
Incredible rocks! (and I feel so funny saying that) hehe
I take it you wore the right shoes this time? Kona has a billy goat in his ancestry somewhere, right? He's a cutie.
It's great to see another picture of you! You are so pretty and you look very happy. :o)
What a beautiful place. You must have been bowled over by that azure sky.
I am putting this on my "places to see" list. Absolutely beautiful!

I know, I already commented yesterday, but I just had to pop back in to tell you that we're all showing up on your doorstep tomorrow, so be prepared! You can't keep posting these photos without some repercussions. ;-)
What a beautiful place. Your pictures make me what to go there in real life!
One of the few climbing spots we have not been to yet. My dh will love your pix!

I was wondering about the sky...amazing photos.
lovely as usual.
That is beautiful. What kind of camera do you have? The color is great.
Thanks, All!
Joshua Tree really is an amazing place, well worth visiting if you ever have the opportunity. It's about 2 hours east of Disneyland, or about 30 minutes east of Palm Springs.
I hope to be posting more pictures soon ...
