We didn’t technically take Eldest Dude’s “Senior” pictures while he was still a senior, but at least we squeezed them in before he was officially a freshman again (grin). We waited for a non-triple-digit heat day in Joshua Tree, braved the holiday weekend traffic, climbed on rocks, played with a spiffy rented tilt-shift lens, watched the sun set, made a camp fire, and ate s’mores.
The Graduate’s Ode to Leonardo: Vitruvian Teen
Which of these is not like the others? Hint: one looks more like Mr. Miyagi’s Karate Kid than like The Graduate’s attempts to replicate his favorite violinist’s tricky performance feats and maneuvers.

Susan, this post feels like a sanctuary one shouldn't enter lightly. You always photograph your subjects with such love, respect, and kindness--how could one expect such a distinction in the way you would photograph your firstborn? Your love for him pours out through these images. God's blessings to The Graduate and to all of you in this new season of life. May he stand strong on these deep roots you have given him.
I couldn't watch it yesterday because I had already cried enough for one day. I am crying this morning. I am so excited for him. He is going to have a big and beautiful life. A highly intellectual one! I wish him all the very best on this new adventure. You will all miss him so much. I love his song choice. I love that God has given you so many beautiful years with this dear child as he grew.
These are so unique and lovely...pure magic here!
These pictures are just excellent! Congratulations on your graduation...so excited for you too!
