From Freaky Desert Lake to Alpine Paradise...

gaining nearly 3000' altitude, with just a 15 minute drive. California is awesome. It really is.

Ellery Lake

This stop along the road included LOTS of rock throwing. Because throwing rocks in an attempt to break thru ice is possibly even more fun than simply throwing them in or skimming them over the water.

Next up, more alpine paradise, just inside the gates of Yosemite National Park...

I always enjoy checking out your photos. I completely LOVE that you shoot such amazing wide-angle shots :)
Meanwhile, it's so great that you make sure to catch pictures of yourself too. It's so easy for a photographer to get lost behind the camera.

Gorgeous - love the vibrant colors. Do you bump the setting on your camera for saturation and sharpness?
