I was taking my traditional first-day-of-school portraits of my dudes last week. As I was talking with my youngest son, I asked him what grade he was going into... :-)
He cracks me up with his quirky ways. I guess he was short on words that morning, too.
The rest of our first day of school pictures, including a very silly collage of "outtakes" can be found here.
First is the grade I'm an aide for. I love it when we have a quirky child or two in the classroom. I related to them :) Plus they are the ones who "get" my sense of humor.
I love this black and white - so cute and fun! :-) I dont have a school-aged-kid -- but I'd love your input on this post! http://thestanleyclan.blogspot.com/2009/09/nora-joy.html

That is such a great picture!! It's just bursting with personality!
How much do you love that little grin? He's too cute for words!
Perfect capture! There will be a day when that picture is worth more than a pot of gold to you; absolutely adorable!
What a cutie!!!
So sweet.
He looks so confident and easy-going about school. What a difference a year can make. My guy was very unsure about the whole kindergarten thing. :)
Susan, I love how you process all your photos--I just recently got into Lightroom--and have a lot to learn from you!
How fun, being in first grade! Now Mommy is going to be busy busy!!

I love the way he responded! What a cute boy you have on your hands. I also love that this is in b&w. Great photo!
I just love it so completely much. It borders on ridiculous how much I adore this picture : ) But honestly, when don't I adore your pictures Susan?
