Another Quickie Book Recommendation
The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall. Totally delightful. Tho written just 3 years ago, the book has a decidedly old-fashioned, wholesome vibe. Love the relationship of the sisters and their care for and understanding of each other. Eldest Dude gives this book thumbs up, too.

Oh, Susan-- this is one of our all-time favorites!! Both boys have read it silently, and we've listened to it 3 times on CD... we just can't get enough of that family, lol.
So when your boys are searching for another great read, squeeze in time for the sequel-- The Penderwicks on Gardham Street. It's equally as charming & delightful :)
Heather - I'm reading it now, and liking it just as much as the first. Really, truly, just a charming series :-)
Levi enjoyed both books. I only read the first, which I enjoyed. The little I listened to (on CD) of the second I didn't care for as much, but it might have been much better had I listened from beginning to end. :)
