Sunday night we went to the beach to watch the sunset. Big Dude brought along his propane "stove" and camping coffee kettle. He made us all hot chocolate to go with yummy Trader Joe's Candy Cane Joe-Joe's (like Oreo cookies with peppermint filling). Mind you, we didn't need hot chocolate because we were cold. Oh no. We were wearing t-shirts and shorts even after the sun was long gone. It's been in the mid to high 90s for the last 10 days. The hot chocolate was just for fun. And the sunset was beautiful. The dark red strip you see at the horizon in all these photos is actually the smoke from the SoCal fires.

Is this really November???

Oh... I love these. I want to be there. It looks so wonderful. I spent about three weeks in San Diego while my husband was there on business in 06... I fell in love with the beaches. They were so beautiful. These pictures remind me so much of that summer. :)
We are finally having some seasonal weather here. And hot chocolate for real would be a great idea.
And as usual...your pictures are just amazing...
My boys love those hot chocolate moments too! Well so does mom.
I love the wave that you captured in #1 pic.
The water in the last one is pretty sweet too!
Oh, man! That is so unfair. You get hot chocolate *and* gorgeous weather?!
I was laughing when we got home from vacation (it was better than crying). We arrived home the day we switched to standard time. The whole week it rained, rained, rained. It was dark. And cold. And really wet. It was so strange to be looking at our pictures with blue sky, shorts and t-shirts, and palm trees.
It is really foggy/misty and cold outside right now. I'd take a picture, but all you'd see is gray. :)
Thanks for sharing your lovely view.
oh so beautiful.
That's quite a difference from the East coast where we've got forecasts of flurries! I'm looking forward to taking photos of the baby in the snow, but I could definitely use a warm relaxing evening on the beach! :)
Awesome pics. And I was wondering the same thing... is this November???
Sharon - your husband should do more business out here!! ;-)
Heidi - throw your boys outside in brightly colored clothing. Against all that gray, they'll look fabulous for photos!!!
Piggy - ooooh!!! baby-in-the-snow pictures?!? How fun...
Maybe it's just me, but I was hoping to see a picture of those cookies and the stove set-up for cooking the hot chocolate... ;-)
Obviously time for me to go get lunch. Nice pictures, as usual, btw...
La, la, la. All I want for Christmas is a print of the last picture. Do be dooby do.
Lucky.
Well, at least in the evenings. I dont think I want 90's during the day right now.
I LOVE the first pictures (not that they're not all fabulous, because they are). I love how you can see the water crashing on the rocks behind you guys. It makes me long for So CA.
I'm so jealous you live so close to the beach. I love these photos.
