There's a good reason the livestock and food concession areas are in completely different sections of the fairgrounds. That's all I've got to say about that.
Susan: You are a wonderful photographer!! I have enjoyed your photos so much. It has been a long time since I was at a fair like that-it brings back memories. I'll visit again! Great blog. ~Have a blessed day. ~Rhonda
I'm going to the OC Fair today. I don't have a really nice camera like you but looking at your different angles gives me some ideas on taking pictures in a non standard way. Thanks :)
Farmnwife - I did notice a bunch of the livestock owners hanging out together, eating meals amongst the animals. Do you just get used to the smell?!?
Irene - have fun! post the pictures - I'd love to see them :-) Hopefully you'll get to the outdoor flowers and indoor orchids before dark (guess what I didn't get to until it was dark. sigh. sniff sniff.)
Kat - if you saw my toes, you might just rethink that new desire of yours...
After seeing your response to Kat's comment, I sure hope you wore appropriate footwear to the barn!! I remember your shoes from a certain climbing photo...

Lucky your fair figured that one out. The main concession at ours is right across from the Cow Palace. It is interesting to try and eat there.
I love the camel nose pic! I'd like livestock a lot more if they just didn't smell so. :)
Those are great pictures!!!
I like the camel and the llama on the last pic. That is a llama correct? I hope I'm not wrong.... :-)
Looks like a good time! I miss going to the Texas State Fair in Big D. Best corny dogs around!

I'll go with the camel nose picture for a favorite. Or the first one. I enjoy the human interest (on your first batch of photos as well).
Ah. But the ones who show the animals eat in the barns with them. We do all the time.

Love the shot of the camel. You are making me want to go to the fair this year instead of using it as a daddy outing...and me getting a pedicure...
The colors in your pictures are beautiful. I really like the camel.
Thanks, All :-)

How fun! Those pics are great. Thanks for stopping by and your kind words re: the loss of our doggie.
The camel face is awesome. Very cool that you even had camels at your fair!
Camels and llamas are just so much fun to photograph. They have perpetually goofy expressions on their faces. I love it.
Goat whisperer. hehe
I love livestock, but I agree with you, very FRAGRANT!!
