And I was, all, "that's nice, honey. But how 'bout ... ???
Oh yeah, and that's not a flat ledge, and there's nothin' but rushing water on the other side, and all that stuff that looks like I put a texture on the image? That's WATER. Slippery water. Everywhere. In the air, on the ground. Luckily when Big Dude slipped off the not-flat ledge, it was onto the drier side of the wall. :-} It's not always easy being awesome.
Being rock stars?
Maybe. But I like to think they were probably giving "ups" to Jesus that Daddy-Big Dude fell on the right side of the wall.
(Why were you blogging at 5:21 AM!!?) Your images are so distinctly yours. The processing is always so rich and moody. And good job on getting that willing husband to participate so willingly and whole heartedly!
ReplyDelete(And to answer your question of me: I processed the artist using TRA2 Grandma's Tap Shoes with a fair amount of reduction to opacity on each layer. I think I threw in some shadow and highlight separators, Boutwell Magic Glasses...not much else.)

Thanks for your recipe. I've not remotely tapped into my GTS action. But I surely love how it looked on your images, so I'll have to play more. I don't think I'd realized it had a "grain" factor similar to Old School. Good to know!

ReplyDeleteConfession: Big Dude didn't technically "fall" from the wall; more like his footing slipped a bit and he jumped down. But to explain it that way takes more words and y'know ... anyhow, he was never in any danger for reals.
JAN - I just slapped a Lightroom preset called CWP Boost on most of these. It seemed like a good fit.
Sharon - I was using my 24-105mm. That's pretty much my "walkaround" lens, as it's quite versatile and the widest angle lens I have currently.

wow, that water does look like added texture. Thats cool! I've never seen that place before..this probably sounds dumb, but is it actually by Spokane? Thats where my husbands family all is, but we never visited anyplace like that!
ReplyDeletetearese- yup, right in the heart of Spokane. we walked there from Riverfront Park. it's the Spokane River and (I think???) Miller Street bridge. I could be totally wrong on that bridge name. anyway, it's all downtown.
