Amazing, horrifying, inspirational, really brilliantly told story. It's been years since I've read Angela's Ashes, but this book, in many ways, reminds me of that book. Well worth reading.
I LOVED that book. And so many parts of it were laugh out loud funny -- like having the baby and dashing out of the hospital without paying. Or trying to get the piano in the house.
I just finished A Year in Provence (after seeing it listed on your "Books I Love" list) and absolutely loved it! I chuckled all the way through and have now added Provence to my ever-growing "Places-I-want-to-visit-before-I'm-too-old" list! I can't wait to read a few more of Mayle's books later this summer :)
So... thanks for the recommendations-- keep them coming!

One of my recent favorites too. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's the second recommendation I've had for that book...will have to add it to my list.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good book, a tad depressing though.

ReplyDeleteOooh, I'll surely add this one to my list!
