Tall Ships Festival 2008

This was The Ocean Institute's 24th annual Tall Ships Festival, and our "drive-by" happened around the same time as the sunset cannon battles. I couldn't decide if I thought the waverunners, jet-skis, yachts, sail and motorboats were an invasive modern distraction or a total hoot amongst those old-timey pirate-y looking ships.

All in all, I thought it was pretty cool.

The Big Dude thought that Cheerleader Camp was far more interesting.

    that's so funny! but I'll have to side with you, tall ships and cannon battles are far more intriguing... your pictures make me wish I were there!

    P.S. I downloaded a free trial of the foto fusion software. Can you give me any hints about how to save collages and download them to post on my blog? I made one last night and clicked on save, but have no idea where it ended up on my computer or what type of file it is saved as. (Feel free to ignore me if you are too busy.) Thanks!

    Ok, shooting from memory here (because Foto fusion (& PS) live on my boys' PC, and I work on the house mac)...

    After I'm happy with the collage, I pick the bar above that says something like "Output". From that drop down box I choose how many pixels wide I want the collage to be (I usually choose about 800 for my blog), and foto fusion then adjusts the length automatically. Then over on the left area of the drop-down box, it lets me choose where I want the file to "live", so on my computer I choose something like :\\network\lightroom edits\collages. Hit "render" and foto fusion makes the jpg and puts it in the proper folder.

    From there (and here's where I'll probably differ from how you download pics), I have to import it back into Lightroom, export it to Flickr, grab the code, and post to my blog. whew. This blog stuff sucks a lot of time out of my day...

    Clear as mud???

    OkinawaMama- I mostly use Lightroom - it's ever so much easier than PS. I really only use PS when I'm doing portraits for other people.
