When did the great playground revolution happen? Where things moved beyond the basic slide and swings? I think my childhood was missing an important element :-)
Oh Susan, This is totally off topic but I had to race over here and tell you that I am laughing so hard right now at your "Compare and Despair" SNL reference. I think that is my favorite comment ever. Well done my friend. And of course, your pictures are gorgeous as usual!
I love pictures of kids goofing around at the playground. Gorgeous photos! Looks like a fun one. I have one child who loves running down slides and another one who is a monkey bar fanatic.
Kat - I don't know. But SoCal is littered with these over-the-top amazing playgrounds. I think the "revolution" probably began when some fool decided that the playgrounds we all grew up on and enjoyed were now suddenly "not safe"...

Tearese - The shade covers make a HUGE difference - without them I don't think I'd care to be at the park midday in the summer!! no special lens. just my trusty 24-105mm zoom.
