Sublime Beauty. The Hefty-Workout-at-the-End Version.

IMG_1577 More GoPro-ing…IMG_1579IMG_1584IMG_1581-2IMG_1587 IMG_1589 IMG_1594Somebody is tired, hungry, cranky … and anticipating [none too happily] the climb back up the steps … And even clearly recognizing his grumpy disposition, I still, against my better judgment, asked him to sit here and let me take a picture.  Because, in my head, I saw neato leading lines and crazy awesome sun flare.IMG_1598 IMG_1602Lots and lots and LOTS of steps.  Like one million two hundred forty eight steps.         (minus a million)so many steps IMG_1631 Now, let’s go get some tacos and fill crankypant's tummy…IMG_1633

Always a Room Prepared …

IMG_1743-Edit
“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father’s house are many dwelling places;
if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself,
that where I am, there you may be also.
And you know the way where I am going.”
Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life;
no one comes to the Father but through Me.
John 14:1-6

Sublime Beauty. Laguna Beach. The Cave Version.

Just as the mossy rocks are often underwater, so too the cave is often inaccessible and filled with ocean waves.

But not the night we went.

Arrival at the mouth of the cave:  6:27p.  Behold the cute little beach in front …IMG_1483 Rocks are meant to be climbed.IMG_1491And jumped off …IMG_1500 Seaweed is to be gathered …IMG_1495Caves practically demand to be explored …IMG_1517 And sometimes photographers demand silhouette setups …IMG_1519 IMG_1520IMG_1530 Tidepools beckon …IMG_1536 And the tide comes in all too quickly.  Exiting the cave:  6:38p.  Cave, you were exquisite for the 11 minutes in which enjoyed your company.IMG_1556 IMG_1565 IMG_1568 IMG_1572 IMG_1575

Sublime Beauty. Laguna Beach. The Mossy Rocks Version.

Sometimes I really have to pinch myself.  I live here.  It’s so beautiful.  It’s a blessing, for sure.  I try daily not to take it for granted.IMG_1435 IMG_1436 IMG_1440This is often under water.  But, if you time it correctly and come to it at a low-low tide, you find this … IMG_1453And if you’re really REALLY lucky, low-low tide happens at glowy-light evening time. IMG_1460 IMG_1463IMG_1466The low (slippery) path and the higher (rocky) path …with the cave at the end.  IMG_1470 IMG_1475Not so sure-footed.  Big Dude is GoPro-ing it all.
