Need a studio?

Wanna see my makeshift "studio?"

_MG_2027

Yup. My driveway. With my dirty white garage door as my "backdrop." Works like a charm. See?...

The key ingredient that makes my driveway work so well: it's north-facing (full gamut pretty light) and shaded for most of the day. Check around your own home. Does your garage door face north? If not, find which wall faces north and try using that as your neutral backdrop. You just might find that you have a wonderful studio at your beck and call. :-)

Who would of thunk it?! It makes for a beautiful studio.

Of course, the hanging flower thingy over your garage is the icing on the cake. That's gorgeous!

Yes, Yes, Yes! This is great. Thanks for sharing your insight. ; ) I keep my eyes out constantly now for "natural" reflectors, finding the light more so than the setting...

Amazing! And may I say you have some beautiful flowers there:) Much prettier than my garage door;)
If you can believe it I have not one window in my house that faces north!

We have so much snow right now that finding a white backdrop is not a problem…but my color seeking eyes went right to the beautiful red flowers framing your garage doors. I’m so jealous! All kidding aside, I hadn’t thought about our garage doors before…great suggestion and beautiful pictures!

That's a great lil' studio! I agree! And who'd a thunk?
I recently found some great light in my kitchen, right in front of my dishwasher and blogged about it the other day. Yep...it's faces north too! Gotta love that northern light!
